Get the Gambling Out of Video Games!

I hate loot boxes in video games. What is it supposed to achieve exactly? What fun is there to be had by getting the same, low level, item over and over?

Maybe some of you open loot boxes with anticipation but I sure as heck don't. Since I don't know what's inside those boxes, I don't care what I'm getting. The loot boxes, on their own, isn't what keeps me interested in a game.

I understand some companies uses this as a way to get people to play more and, most importantly, spend more but for me it does nothing more but cheapens an, otherwise, good game.
