CRPG Are Better On Computer

I didn't really grew up with powerful gaming PCs and therefor missed out of many of the good CRPG classics such as Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights. Pillars of Eternity, which is said to be heavily inspired of these old CRPG games, is included on Xbox Gamepass so I decided to give it a try.

While I enjoyed my few hours of play on the Xbox I still felt like something was off. I decided to look for the PC version of the game, which was free a few months ago on the Epic store, and quickly realized that this isn't a game that should be played on console - at all.
Now, don't get me wrong, the folks of Obsidian Entertainment did an amazing job with the controls but scrolling through the map, or "clicking", with a controller just doesn't feel right. Maybe I would, eventually, get used to it... I mean, I am playing FPS with a controller nowadays (which is something that used to be done exclusively on PC like 10 years ago) or maybe these CRPG types of games falls into the same bucket as strategy, games such as Starcraft, which are simply better played on PC.

The bizarre thing with Pillars of Eternity, on Xbox, is that it doesn't support the keyboard and mouse on the console. Why not? Seems to me like this is a missed opportunity.

As far as playing Pillars of Eternity goes, it peaked my interest enough that I will continue playing it but I likely won't be coming back to the Xbox version of the game.
