Is Pokémon Legend Arceus a Money Grab?

Back in 2002/2003 a new iteration of Unreal Tournament came out called Unreal Tournament 2003 and it was a blast to play even though many felt that features were missing. A year later, Epic Games released Unreal Tournament 2004, which was using the same game engine, that was an improvement in every way which left many people wondering if Unreal Tournament 2003 was just a money grab especially considering that it was announced shortly after UT2003 came out.

I know Pokémon games have essentially been the same for the past 25 years so we could say that all games have been money grabs but I'm getting the same vibe I had with UT2003/2004 with Nintendo recent Pokémon Scarlet/Violet announcement shortly after Pokémon Legend Arceus came out.

Pokémon Legend Arceus is a breath of fresh air into the aging series but everything feels unfished/rushed. The world is uninteresting, there's an excessive focus on grind in order to progress (which inflates the time it takes to beat the game), the story is uninspiring ... to me this game screams "DEMO!"
The current assumption is that the new mechanics will make their way to Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, which already looks like a much more appealing game from the first trailer, but I haven't come across official information that says so.

This isn't to say that PLA is a bad game it just feels like we solely paid for the new Pokémon catching mechanics, that will be used in future games, and nothing else.

You tell me - Is PLA just a money grab? It sure feels like it to me...
