Don't Steal Entertainment

It is such common place to download anything online that we often forget that in some cases it is, in fact, stealing and stealing IS illegal.
No matter how you put it, you can't justify stealing entertainment. This isn't a "I needed food and couldn't afford it so I stole out of necessity" type of situation. This is someone that's bored looking to entertain himself without paying the price that comes with it or by making someone else pay for it.

Is it too expensive? Does the legal copy comes with DRMs practices that you don't agree with? No matter the reason, if you aren't willing to pay for it then don't buy it. You stealing anything doesn't make you some sort of hero fighting a system, it makes you a thief. You're not entitled to your entertainment. It doesn't belong do you - you have no rights to it unless you pay the fee.

Somebody, somewhere, is paying for your misguided morals.

If companies are loosing money when they release their entertainment products they will inevitably want to fight and find other ways to recoup the money.
We could say that the excessive focus on DLCs and "always online" type of functionalities we've seen in video-games was the indirect result of piracy. The more people steal the game, the more companies will fight and this creates vicious circle that is ruining the experience of the person that is acquiring the entertainment product legally.

Support the entertainment companies that you like by buying what they make rather than stealing it. Wait for a special, subscribe to a streaming service or save up your money for it - it doesn't matter as long as you don't steal it. If you're not willing to pay for it then don't buy it.
