MechWarrior 5 - Flawed but Fun

MechWarrior 5 recently became available on GamePass and I decided to give it a go being a fan of MechWarrior 3 and 4 as a kid. I would be lying, however, if I said I remembered everything related to those games as they came out like 15 years ago. I do remember the ability to customize the mechs and the awesome feeling of driving these beasts.

Lets face it, those of us that enjoy mech based games don't really have much to play. Therefor, when MechWarrior 5 came out it was like a breath of fresh air. To say that it's the best mech game around doesn't really mean much when there aren't that many mech games to begin with.

MechWarrior 5 does a decent job at what it set itself to do. You control your mechs, you have decent modification to them, you go out and blow up other vehicles and buildings. Do that for a few days and you beat the game.
There's nothing that stood out as being memorable about this game. The most enjoyable thing to me was the ability to manage the team of mercenaries and the mech that they drive but even here the system they created is fairly barebone.

MechWarrior 5 is the best mech game of recent memory only because there are nothing else to compare it with. Some might say that "Battletech" is another mech game but that's from a different genre altogether.
MechWarrior 5 is good because there's nothing else to compare it with. Tried it out on GamePass.
