Pokemon Go Fest: A Success!

As most of you know, Pokémon Go Fest occurred last weekend and while I have no idea how lucrative this was for Niantic I can definitely say that this was a success in my area. People were driving/walking around, going from gyms to gyms, in an attempt to catch those legendary creatures or to complete their quests for the event.

In the game, you can conquer areas (called gyms) and you get to leave one of your digital creatures and your avatar there for others to see. On our travels, we found out the true identity of a few of the players we only previously saw in those areas.

It was kind of nice to put a face to the name.

Game aside, this event was a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and I'm happy to say that my group of friends grew from this event.
What other games can you play where things like this happen? What other games can you play where you walk around and bump into other players that may, or may not, become lifelong friends (or at least a friend to play the game with going forward).

My hunt for digital creatures was a success. Not only did we hit our targets but we also made new friends and that, my friends, is what this game is all about - making friends.
