Is 8BitDo Changing my Mind on Third Party Controllers?

When I was younger, I had a PlaySation 2 and little to no money therefore, when a controller was needed, I had to buy the cheaper, third party, controller which often ended up dying within a month.

Since then, I vowed never to buy a third party controller again.

The PlayStation 2 era is long gone and the quality of first party controllers aren't what they used to be. The Joycon controller, from my experience, is among the worse controllers I ever owned. Within 1 year of buying my Switch, only playing maybe 50 hours with the thing, both of my Joycons had the drift issue.

Due to this, I've been a bit more opened to third party controllers than I normally would of.

When looking for a new controller for fighting games, compatible with the switch, the 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ popped up in my search quite often - many considering it the best controller they ever owned.
It was imediately clear to me, upon opening the box, that this wasn't a normal third party controller. It felt sturdy, it came with removable rechargeable batteries (or use your own AA), comfortable to hold, plays great... If this thing doesn't die on me then I agree with other reviews when they said this is one of the best controller they ever owned.

According to teardown videos I've seen, this thing is built well too!

I still don't have much faith in most companies that build third party controllers but 8BitDo is, so far at least, an exception.
