Mass Effect was a Treat

With the uneventful release that was Anthem, I can’t help but reminisce of what once was. The early days of Bioware was filled with exciting new IPs. One of which became my all time favorite Sci-Fi series - Mass Effect.

I played Mass Effect the first time on November 6, 2009. I remember because I purchased the game on steam and had beaten it in one sitting (roughly 16 hours). I just couldn’t put it down. I loved everything about it.

Mass Effect wasn’t the best game in terms of mechanics or controls. It felt somewhat clunky, elevator rides took forever and, animation wise, it was just okay.
What the game did right can be found in the choices it gave to the player. In it’s interesting story line and intriguing characters that inhabited the world (go Krogans!).

The entire galaxy was at your fingertips begging to be explored.

Even though the surprise factor is gone, I still pick up the game from time to time for a quick playthrough. The game is 10 years old and still a blast to play. If you haven’t picked it up yet then you should (the game is backward compatible on Xbox 1).

Oh and if you work for EA/Bioware - Can we please have a remaster of the trilogy?
