Do We Even Need Actors?

I recently saw an interview with Anthony Mackie where he said that he noticed a change in the film industry in the last 10 years. He was saying that actors are no longer what people go to the movies for - they are no longer what marketing is advertising. In the 90s, for example, people would go see movies that Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sylvester Stallone were in because they were fan of the actor.
What he's saying is that the focus is on the character the actor is playing vs the actor themselves (note that he portrayed Falcon in the Marvel Movies).

One of the reason why I agree with him on this is because actors are playing less of a role in movies than they used to. Everything is made by computers so, in a way, why would the actor be the focus of the movie or have any significance part in the advertising? If we think about it, the actor that portrayed hulk in the Infinity War movie had what? 20 min of screen time? After that, it was all animated and only his voice was used.
Don't get me wrong, voice is important but that is also being replaced by digital voice software.

It's so weird to think that actors may soon be replaced by software but it is definitely in the realm of possibilities. Everyday, the software is getting better. It's a matter of time.
